Small files, clearly explained
Which cookies and similar technologies Daily Vita Pulse uses, why we use them and how you can control them in your browser.
We use a minimal set of cookies to keep the site fast, secure and spam-free, plus optional tools to understand which topics help readers most. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or whether you are logged in. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and scripts that perform comparable functions. In this policy we refer to all of them as “cookies”.
We use cookies sparingly. Our aim is a fast, secure and private reading experience. We use them to deliver pages reliably, protect forms from spam, remember choices you make, speed up the site through caching and, where enabled, understand in aggregate which topics readers find most useful.
| Category | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Page delivery, security, load balancing and remembering consent choices. | Session to 12 months |
| Performance and caching | Help pages load faster through server-side caching and optimisation tools. | Session to 1 week |
| Functional | Remember details you enter in comment or contact forms, and preferences. | Up to 12 months |
| Spam protection | Distinguish genuine visitors from automated bots on forms. | Session |
| Analytics and embeds | Understand which articles are read, in aggregate, and display embedded maps or media. | Up to 24 months |
Some features rely on third-party services that may set their own cookies, for example embedded Google Maps on our contact page, images loaded from stock-photo libraries, or analytics tools if enabled. These providers have their own privacy and cookie policies, and we do not control the cookies they set.
Our website runs on WordPress. If you leave a comment, WordPress may set cookies to remember your name and email for future comments. Team members who log in to manage the site receive additional login and session cookies that do not apply to ordinary readers.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block all cookies, block third-party cookies only, delete existing cookies or receive a warning before cookies are stored. Guidance is available in the help section of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and other browsers, including mobile versions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may cause parts of the website to work incorrectly.
Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. Because there is no common standard for responding to these signals, our website does not currently change its behaviour in response to them. We nonetheless keep tracking to a minimum.
We may update this Cookie Policy when we add, remove or change tools on the website. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows the most recent revision.
